On Friday 10th November representatives from the Black Country Talent Match team attended the Black Country Sport and Physical Activity Awards hosted at the Copthorne Hotel in Dudley.
Ten Awards were given to recognise the achievements and contribution of athletes, coaches, sports clubs and volunteers. The evening also included a truly inspirational speaker, the former women’s England Rugby player Maggie Alphonsi MBE, who gave a speech about her journey towards winning the Rugby Union World Cup in 2014.
The evening ended with Talent Match Black Country being awarded the Elvis Gordon Chair Award in recognition of the work the project does to help to inspire Talent Match young people to lead healthier, fun and active lives and because we recognise the power of sport and physical activity to engage and support young people to progress, develop and grow.
