This is great for those who want to get to grips with education again and plan on going back to gain new skills. You may be a bit wary about what to expect so you will be given some info, get help to figure out your future career goals and decide which course best suits your needs and aspirations.
You can increase your confidence and figure out what your learning style is. You will discover the best way your brain can absorb information. Once you know your learning style you can apply it to future studying.
Once you’re in education or preparing to, you could attend Skills to Cope with Study/Employment. Where you learn to manage any bad habits or attitudes you may have towards education or even work. You will identity how these responses and actions can impact yourself and others in a negative way. You will also look at how to deal and cope with the additional stresses that studying can bring to everyday life.
Care to Make a Difference
This is for anyone who is prepared for College and wants to progress into the Adult Care Industry. You will need to take part in an initial group session and carry out a Maths and English assessment.
You will gain a NCFE Level 1 Qualification in an Introduction to Adult Social Care and this will be in partnership with Employers within the industry.
During the course you will learn about the values/principles, skills/attitudes, communication skills expected of a Carer and what roles/responsibilities you will undertake to be eligible for future employability.
FLT – Forklift Training & Employability
For this course you must have previous driving/FLT experience and will need to attend a group info session beforehand.
You will achieve an NCFE Award in Employability and then if you have achieved 100% attendance you be able to progress to the practical Forklift Driving with a counterbalance truck. This will also allow you to achieve a RTITB Certificate.
