There is an exciting opportunity for you to undertake a pre BBC apprenticeship training programme with Gazebo, Themis Creative and Zebra Digital.
The programme will offer you the opportunity to work with film and TV industry professionals on a brand new television pilot entitled Lucid The Dreamwalker. This will be an ideal opportunity if you are considering applying to the BBC Apprenticeship scheme next year and/ or those interested in any careers within the film and TV production industry. A number of Mentees worked on the creation of the Lucid promo last year. This was excellent in terms of outcomes around confidence, optimism, employability and practical skills, and the Mentees involved were all keen to work on the next stage of the project. The Promo was selected for the British Urban Film Festival, sponsored by the BBC, and was screened in London this September.
The programme:
Lucid the Dreamwalker is a new exciting psychological thriller and has taken the Midlands by storm. After the overwhelming success of the promotional film showcased at the Electric Cinema in Birmingham, Themis Creative are now in serious talks with TV executives about the airing of Lucid on primetime TV and our short promo film has been screened as part of the British Urban Film Festival at the Odeon Cinema Camden London. All participants on the traineeship programme will have the opportunity to work on the new TV pilot alongside industry professionals. The skills gained from this programme will be valuable for anyone looking to work or gain an apprenticeship within the TV, Film, Media and entertainment business.
Key features of the programme include:
- An introduction to the project
- Meet the cast and crew opportunities
- Shadowing opportunities within a range of jobs such as Directing, producing, acting, special effects, editing, sound, continuity, DOP, and many more
- Working alongside Zebra Digital, a 16 year old multi-award winning production company based in Birmingham and run by former BBC, Channel 4 and ITV staff
- A guaranteed apprenticeship with Zebra Digital for the right candidate
- Professional support and assistance for application to BBC apprenticeship
- A professional film documentary of the whole process to be given to each Mentee to use to support progression routes within the industry, and a master copy for your hub.
- A certificate awarded for those who complete the whole traineeship programme
- Accreditation at level 1 and 2 through arts award
- A trip to BBC
- Showreel production
Time period
This will take place over 10 weeks with various schedules put in place, so not everyone will have the same timetable.
