Their aim is to increase your skills to successfully search, apply for and gain future employment. You will be supported to get work ready with a direct and hands on approach- maybe a little different to what you’ve experienced before!

You will cover the necessities such as -

• Presentation Skills
• Job searching
• Application form tips
• Setting up an email address
• CV building
• Confidence building
• Strength identification

With support of your JST advice and guidance mentor you will-
• Learn how to disclose any convictions you may have
• Drop off your CV at places of potential employment
• Visit potential employers/training providers/colleges
• Learn telephone techniques
• Cold call employers
• Look at self-employment and enterprise options (business plans & funding)
• Receive guidance on how to keep a job should you get one!

JST can help you secure voluntary work and work placements to help improve your CV and build your employability skills up.
They also offer in house work experience. So if you’re interested in a career in Business Admin or just want to find out if it’s something you might enjoy, you can undergo a 2-4 week work placement. You would gain supervision, support, guidance, experience and an up to date reference.
This is a fantastic way to gain skills and become more confident during your journey to employment!
